When interproximal enamel reduction becomes necessary, manual procedures are slow and complex, which is why the use of devices dedicated to this purpose, such as the Strip Tech kit, is advisable.

COMPLETE AND READY-TO-USE KIT
Complete orthodontic kit with all the necessary elements: 4:1 reciprocating handpiece, strips with different grain sizes, gauge for measuring spaces, pin for strip removal and manual handle, for cases where manual intervention proves indispensable.

STRIPS FOR EVERY NEED
The kit includes 10 strips of different grain sizes, two of each size: 15 micron/0.17 mm, 25 micron/0.19 mm, 40 micron/0.23 mm, 60 micron/0.32 mm, 90 micron/0.40 mm.

What is StripTech and how does the stripping contra-angle perform?

StripTech by Precision Tech is an interproximal reduction (IPR, or stripping) kit for removing small amounts of enamel from the outer surface between two adjacent teeth. The kit is based on the X202 contra-angle with a 4:1 reduction ratio, which connects to a motor, and includes carborundum blades that can also be used with a manual handle. The contra-angle runs at a maximum speed of 10,000 rpm, with a 1.4 mm blade stroke and low operating noise.

Which motors does the StripTech contra-angle connect to?

The StripTech stripping contra-angle connects directly to E-type motors; make sure it is firmly attached. Do not exceed the stated maximum rotation speed. To disconnect it, simply hold the motor and handpiece and pull them apart.

Why use a contra-angle for stripping instead of manual strips?

The StripTech contra-angle moves the blade with a reciprocating motion (1.4 mm stroke) at controlled speed, so the clinician does not have to perform the back-and-forth movement by hand. Compared with manual abrasive strips, this makes interproximal reduction faster, less tiring and more uniform, with consistent control over the amount of enamel removed. Cooling water during use prevents overheating of both the tooth and the instrument.

What are the advantages of the StripTech kit and which stripping blades does it include?

StripTech brings together everything needed for interproximal reduction in a single kit. The carborundum blades come in five grits, each with its own thickness: 15HD (15 μm grit, 0.14 mm thick), 25HD (25 μm, 0.17 mm), 40HD (40 μm, 0.19 mm), 60HD (60 μm, 0.28 mm) and 90HD (90 μm, 0.38 mm); choosing the blades progressively allows precise control over the amount of enamel removed. The blades fit both the contra-angle, for mechanical stripping, and the supplied manual handle, for finishing by hand. The kit also includes a gauge to measure the interproximal space obtained, and the contra-angle is reusable and autoclavable for up to 200 cycles.
